Jack Barbut, ScD.

NovImmune’s Chief Executive Officer is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Synarc Inc, San Francisco, (1998-2000) with more than 20 years of professional experience in clinical trials management and drug development. Prior to joining Synarc, Jack Barbut was the founder, Vice-Chairman and President of Clinical Services of Chrysalis International, Inc., (1981-1998) a publicly (NASDAQ) traded global full service, Contract Research Organization (CRO), with 450 employees, USD 60M in sales and USD 150 M in market capitalisation when it went public. Today it is part of MDS (NYSE), a global drug development service company with USD 1.2 B in sales and 11’000 employees. A Swiss citizen, Jack Barbut holds a MS in Electrical Engineering and a ScD in Systems Engineering from the EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Marie Kosco-Vilbois, PhD.

NovImmune’s Chief Scientific Officer was previously Head of Immunology and preclinical pharmacology at the Serono Pharmaceutical Research Institute (1997-2001). As Head of the Department, she and her team were responsible for taking four biologicals into pre-clinical phase, one small molecular weight compound through IND and Phase I, and one therapeutic protein into Phase II. Prior to that she was Senior Scientist and then Head of Immunology at Glaxo-Welcomes' Research Institute in Geneva. Before joining Glaxo, Marie Kosco-Vilbois was a Scientific Member of the Basel Institute for Immunology. A US citizen, Marie Kosco-Vilbois holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Rutger's and received a PhD in Anatomy and Immunology from the Medical College of Virginia in 1985.

Mahdi Farhan, MD.

NovImmune’s Chief Medical Officer, previously worked for Roche as Clinical Scientist and Clinical Team Leader responsible for the development of three products. Of particular interest to NovImmune, Mahdi Farhan was responsible for the overall development plan of an anti-CD20 that is being developed by Genentech in collaboration with Roche. In parallel to his product development activities, he was the Clinical Research Liaison for the clinical licensing activities for Roche’s anti-inflammatory therapeutic area with primary responsibility for the assessment of in-licensing opportunities and, once licensed, the establishment of clinical and preclinical models for proof of concept and safety assessment.

Arnd Christ, Chief Financial Officer

Novimmune´s Chief Financial Officer is the former Chief Financial Officer of Probiodrug AG, Halle/Germany (2002-2007) with more than 12 years of international experience in finance and operations and merger and acquisition. Since then he was responsible for several financing rounds, corporate transactions (licensing, asset sales) and corporate restructurings. Before joining Probiodrug AG, he was CFO of Elegene AG, a Munich based biotech company. Before that he was Director of Finance of a European division of Avery Dennison, where he was responsible for several production and sales site. From 1995 until 1999 he worked as the Finance Director in a variety of subsidiaries of the Hoechst Group in Germany and UK. A German citizen, Arnd Christ holds a master degree in Business and Administration from the Universities of Würzburg (Germany) and Boston (US).

Nathalie Muller, LLB.

Prior to working with NovImmune as Director of Human Resources and Administration (including legal and intellectual property), Nathalie Muller was Head of Administration and Legal affairs for Medabiotech (1997-2000), a company which managed NovImmune among other biotech companies. Nathalie Muller was responsible in the Legal and Intellectual Property Department of Debiopharm SA (1994-1997), a private Swiss pharma group, for drafting agreements, including those related to clinical trials, and for the administration of its IP portfolio (patents and trademarks). She also has worked previously in several international companies and organizations (UN, ILO) handling legal, administrative and HR issues. Nathalie Muller holds a law degree from the University of Geneva law school.
