NovImmune SA is a drug discovery and development company located in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, (CH) that focuses on developing therapeutic monoclonal antibodies for inflammatory diseases and immune-related disorders. To date, NovImmune has generated seven reflecting a balance between preclinical and clinical compounds specific for validated and novel targets. Last October, NovImmune won the competitive European Biotechnica Award 2009, for innovation and strong product focus. NovImmune is seeking an experienced Scientist to head the Section responsible for managing the Pharmacokinetic (PK), Anti-Drug Antibody (ADA) and Pharmacodynamic (PD) elements of our pipeline. The position will report to the Head of the Experimental Science and Translational Medicine Department and will require close interface with research, exploratory in vivo biology and NovImmune’s clinical department.
The successful candidate will manage the Clinical Laboratory which execute studies in the context of clinical trials. Furthermore, the position will involve driving and coordinating experiments involving exploratory and safety issues for early drug development (e.g. Preclinical Safety, Biomarker Development, Translational Medicine). The candidate will use his/her expertise and scientific leadership to combine PK and translational PD studies to drive clinical development. In addition to strong scientific skills in translational biology, this individual must have a proven record of multitasking and coordination of multiple projects.
Major responsibilities will include:
- Developing, validating and executing or transferring to CROs PK, ADA and PD assays for the pipeline
- Delivering reports summarizing results of clinical PK/PD/ADA analysis
- Integrate knowledge from clinical and exploratory PK/PD studies to assist in prediction of human dose regimens
- Apply scientific findings from studies to support clinical efficacy and safety assessment
Candidate should have:
- PhD in life sciences, preferably with an understanding of immunology, and 5 years of post graduate experience in Industry
- Experience with industry standard technologies for exploration of PK/ADA/PD assays
- Awareness of relevant regulatory guidelines
- Competitive publication and patent application history
- Proven track record of effective technical and scientific problem-solving
- Fluent written and spoken English; fluency in French a plus
- Flexible approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Independent and works in a QA compliant manner
- Proven planning, project and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
